10th Club and Project Week
Topic: The 500 Years of the City of Funchal

The 10th Club and Project Week was from 14th to 18th April 2008, and dedicated to the topic “THE 500 YEARS OF THE CITY OF FUNCHAL”. The presentation was for students, teachers, school staff and the whole community. It was organized by the Extra-Activities Coordinators and got the collaboration of all the other Club and Project Coordinators, who throughout the year prepared: events, conferences, competitions and plays. These Coordinators encouraged students to participate in the exhibitions, multimedia projections, competitions and other activities.
The Regional Secretary of Education and Culture – Dr. Francisco Fernandes - attended the Opening Ceremony that included dance and gymnastics performances and the inauguration of the exhibitions. On the last day, the Closing Ceremony activities were presided by the School Head Master. There was a singing contest: Vozes do Liceu and the best three performances were chosen by the jury that consisted of teachers. At the end of the ceremony the winners were awarded prizes and there was a small buffet for all the people that participated directly or indirectly in this event.
The Opening and Closing Ceremony performances were possible with the aid of the Extra-Activities Coordinators and the Coordinators of the Comenius Lifelong Learning Programmes – School Partnerships with the topic “Ways to promote Student Autonomy and Initiative in the Learning Process” subtopic – The Development of the City.
