topic: Nourishment and Quality of Life
The 9th WEEK OF THE SCHOOL CLUBS/PROJECTS took place on the week 16th – 20th April 2007 in our school, under the heading topic: “Nourishment and Quality of Life”.
All the teachers and students involved in the numerous different projects took part in the activities through: workshops, conferences (on 17th April – “Obesity and eating habits” – guest speaker: Dr. Vanesa Luís representing the Local Consumer Defence Service), exhibitions (some of which on Healthy Food, Anorexia, Bulimia), film viewing (one of the films: “Supersize Me” by Morgan Spurlock, dealing with eating disorders), walks, contests, among many other initiatives.
For the opening event the school invited Dr. Francisco Fernandes, the Local Secretary for Education, and at the closing ceremony our vice-director, Dr. Miguel Nunes – addressed some words to the audience and all the people involved in the week activities. Both the opening and the closing events were enriched with shows by the students – music, dance, gymnastic. On the last day everybody was offered a snack and refreshments party.
This special week was open to students, teachers, staff and the community.
The opening and closing events had the cooperation of the COMENIUS 1 Coordinators.
